Summer Wrap Up Is Here!

Hello Team,

    A pretty big hello for everyone since I haven't written on this blog for awhile now. It has been an amazing Summer for me and I'm sure all of you wish Summer would stay longer, but seasons change and change brings new things ahead. So as we get into the fall season and we're all wrapping up our vacations and getting ready for school (for some of us), I'm also in that mode as i write to you. I'm looking forward to this fall season and learning more about God's growth in our lives and the life at PDX4. Last Sunday Pastor Tim Mossholder spoke about our pursuit towards "Breakthrough". My prayer for all of us would be   that the Lord would start positioning our hearts in breakthrough. We know what those things are deep down in our hearts and only God can take that and position it to become a breakthrough where we know we need a breakthrough. It's important that it doesn't just become a breakthrough for only ourselves individually, but it's "our breakthrough" for others to grasp what God is amazingly doing in our lives through that. How do we do that so that others may be brought to that which is breakthrough, just as "Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."         -1 john 3:16. My prayer for all of us is that we become that in our lives as well :)

    Wondering where the schedule for September is?

    No worries, with the whole wrap up of Summer, schedules will be posted slightly later than usual... But that's ok! You will receive a phone call and email if we have you scheduled soon! In the meantime please check your calendars and look for any conflicts that could occur within the worship schedule and please contact me as soon as you know something is in conflict. Thanks for your patience and please check back soon for the September schedule.

Saddleback Church Worship Conference & Festival- Day 2

Hey guys!

I am amazed by who God is, and that we get to worship Him!!!  I want you to know that God has challenged me this week to be a passionate worshipper in word and deed (lyric and action).  The statement was made yesterday that, "music is only a minute piece of what worship is."  And that, my friends, leaves us with the responsability to listen to what we sing and walk it out!  Thank the Lord, He promises to give us the strength to go forward with this life of worship as we abide in Him!!!!  I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for you, and me, and our church, and our city, as we learn to live out our worship together.  See you soon.

Saddleback Church Worship Conference & Festival- Day 1

Hey Guys,

    This was day one of our time here at the Saddleback Church Worship Conference in Lake Forest, California. Josh and I along with Pastor Dennis and Patsy are having a great time here and we would like to share with you as much as we can through blogging for the time being down here. We just got back from an awesome concert with Jonathan Buttler and Tommy Walker. I'm telling you, that Jonathan guy blew everyone away in that auditorium. He had an amazing voice that brought out his whole heart through his worship. Just check out the video below and you'll see what I'm talking about. Tommy on the other hand, just brought everyone together as a worship leader for all of us worship leaders at the conference. Tommy brought a genuine spirit to the place tonight. I honestly began to go into tears when he first started with his song "Lord I Believe In You". It just brought everyone at a place of "just worshipping". In my mind I thought, if this was only the beginning of one of the nights we're down here, than there's a lot more awaiting for us in the next few days to come. I look forward in sharing more with you guys and will post video and pics as i get them uploaded to my computer. Please feel free to post comments... We would love to stay in touch and have dialouge with all of you about this event we are at. I've just asked Josh to start posting something on the blog too. This will sure get him started on writing blogs. Well, I'm going to wrap this up since it's already 12am, so again I will keep you guys up to the minute with this worship conference. the coffee shop post

    I hope you're all having a great week so far. I decided I'd post a few thoughts down before i leave the coffee shop here on the westside close to my house. First of all, Sunday was awesome and you all did an awesome job during our worship time. I want to thank those of you that prayed over me before beginning practice. I know that you may have felt the same feeling of God's presence over us during prayer. It was one of the most meaningful times of prayer we had before a sunday morning rehearsal. I would like to encourage you all this week to be joyful in everything you do and wherever you walk, either a coffee shop, fitness club, restaurant, or just walking around your community; make sure to remember to show love to those around you and live the Joy God's given us all. Even if you're having a rough day or things don't all go right... Take time to rejoice in the Lord and thank Him for everything He's done in Your life and the days to come. That verse of scripture in Phillipians Ch. 4:4-7 keeps coming to my mind from what we talked about last Thursday at rehearsal. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

    Keep this verse as a reminder and encouragement to your heart and always Rejoice the Lord in all you do!

Hey Everyone,

    Just wanted to check in with all of you and see how all of you are doing! I'm looking forward to our times of worship in the next two weeks as we reflect on what Christ has done for all of us and celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday. This week I will be posting new schedules for April as well as everything following up to Easter and all our rehearsals pertaining to Easter. Welcome To The New Worship Blog

Hey Everyone,

    I want to welcome you all to the new pdx4worship blog! This is a place of community for those of us on the pdx4worship & creative arts team. For that last few months I've been really looking forward in starting a blog for our team. If you're wondering why, well let me just say that blogs is another way of emailing you, only this way you get it my emails on demand and it's more interactive too. The benefit of the blog is to put the flow of communication at ease. One way this will make it easier for all of us, is we can guarantee that we get message across to the whole team... before i would send you an email with an attached schedule file....what that did, was it took a long time to make sure i had everyone listed on my email and make sure that the format i sent it in would be receivable through all your email programs. By having this blog up, all i have to do is put up a new post and attach the schedule and it's there. All you have to do is subscribe to this feed and every time your connected to the Internet that feed, which is called an (rss feed) will automatically synchronize to your web browser and or feed collector program that you may have installed on your computer. If you don't understand rss feeds that well, well the other option is just to bookmark this page. As we all get use to checking this page at least when it's most convenient for you, you'll get the hang of it. I am really excited to have this open for all of us and i sure enjoy it too. I hope you enjoy this as much as i do and I think if you'll start by writing a comment or two, you'll probably get hooked on it :)

    What is expected of having this blog?

           This blog will be the center point of communication for all scheduling needs and conflicts that may occur. Every month i will post a fresh copy of the proposed schedule for all areas of ministry under the worship arts. I may decide to put multiple files that you can download, because i know for some of you, you're computer doesn't like .pdf format. I will experiment with this and try to have the best format that works for everyone to view the schedule.

           This blog will have new music posted with chord charts and mp3's of what we're singing at pdx4. Also, the worship leaders and I will try our best to have music up on the blog before every Sunday, so that you may have a chance to listen and practice the songs.

           This blog will be a place of community amongst all of us on the team and possibly for neighbors that may jump across our blog. I strongly encourage you all to use this blog as a resource for your benefit and responsibility in following-up with the team. Also, i know i probably won't have trouble with this, but please remember to keep this place a clean and safe place for all of us. Just be Christ-like and put some thought in what you may be writing before you submit anything on this blog  Thanks! :)
